The Porsche company in Zuffenhausen, Germany, can probably be said to be the most successful marque ever for victories in the motor racing scene. Likewise many firsts in innovation have come with the name Porsche attached.
Then there are the builders of racing cars, some major producers, such as Elva, Lotus, Lola, March, all at some time featured a Porsche engine in their chassis.

For author Jürgen Barth, this book was a matter close to his heart. After all, the racing driver and long-time Porsche employee achieved the greatest success of his career with victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Porsche 936.
