Porsche 930 to 935: The Turbo Porsches (hard cover)

In 1974, to rave reviews, Porsche produced the 930/911 Turbo to the public and set off on a new road. At the same time, the governing body of motorsport introduced a new "silhouette" formula to sports car racing. Thus the immortal 934 and 935 were born.

Páginas del libro Porsche 930 to 935: The Turbo Porsches (hc) (1)

This book tells the story of the 911 Turbo and its racing cousins, from the 1974 2.1-liter RSR Turbo Carrera to the tube-framed 750 horsepower final variants of the 935.
These are the cars which still bring a gleam of pleasure to any of the drivers lucky enough to have sampled their enormous power and, sometimes, their wayward handling!

Porsche 936

Porsche 956 & 962 Manual (1982 onwards) - An insight into the design, engineering and operation

The Porsche 956 is the iconic 'Group C' sports-racing car that dominated sports-car racing throughout the 1980s.
In its debut season, the 956 won the 1982 Le Mans 24-hours race in the hands of Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx, 956s completing a clean sweep of the podium. The car went on to win Le Mans for four consecutive years, before it was superceded by the Porsche 962 - visually similar to the 956, thought featuring a longer wheelbase and other detailed differences.

The 962 won Le Mans in 1986 and, and a heavily modified example won again in 1994. With the 956 and 962, Porsche won five consecutive 1987 World Endurance Championship titles.

This book provides new insight into the cars, looking at a range of restored examples today. The book also features a wealth of archive photography and detailed images of the cars' anatomy, plus interviews with drivers and engineers who worked with the cars.

Powered by Porsche - The Alternative Race Cars

The Porsche company in Zuffenhausen, Germany, can probably be said to be the most successful marque ever for victories in the motor racing scene. Likewise many firsts in innovation have come with the name Porsche attached.
Then there are the builders of racing cars, some major producers, such as Elva, Lotus, Lola, March, all at some time featured a Porsche engine in their chassis.

In the late 1970s and into the 1980s, the demand for the services and supply of cars, chassis, and parts from Porsche, outstripped their ability to deliver. Plus with many new projects in the rapidly expanding Porsche organisation, race car projects had to be prioritised.

This would lead to the creation of the replicas, as opposed to the factory built works race cars, even Porsche was building 'replica' 935s to supply to clients, this was to continue into the 962 era.
In turn a whole new highly specialised high quality industry grew up to meet the demand for Porsche-powered racers.

In this book we see the racing cars, the teams and the people who turned to Porsche to utilise the power from, perhaps, the greatest of all engine makers.

Páginas del libro Powered by Porsche - The Alternative Race Cars (1)

This is thought to be first book on the subject, covering the entire history of Porsche engines, detailed engine specifications, non-Porsche chassis, and race details, as well as team history with anecdotes from drivers.

Porsche 959 (3 volumes)

The Porsche 959 stands out as a remarkable achievement in automotive history, renowned for its advanced features including all-wheel drive, a sophisticated biturbo engine producing 450 PS, and a top speed of 315 km/h, maintaining its allure even three decades after its debut.

Conceived to comply with the Group B regulations introduced in 1983, the Porsche 959 was developed to meet the requirements for homologation, with only 200 units needed for approval. Designed for both racing and rallying, Porsche aimed to merge cutting-edge technology with performance for track and road use.

The Porsche 959 excelled in various competitions, winning the Paris-Dakar rally and impressing at Le Mans, despite the premature end of its motorsports career due to regulatory changes after fatal accidents. Approximately 300 units were produced, becoming revered as an iconic and collectible automobile.

Jurgen Lewandowski, an eyewitness to the 959's development, offers insights into its history, including its participation in Paris-Dakar rallies and Le Mans races. This comprehensive boxed set comprises three volumes covering technical specifications, historical context, and a detailed illustrated account of the 959's evolution, featuring new photographs and expert commentary, serving as a definitive tribute to the Porsche 959's legacy.
