Lancia - 7 extraordinary stories / 7 storie straordinarie

As a prominent expression of the highest Italian automobile traditions, in its over 110 years of history the Lancia brand has had its share of dazzling moments of glory and disastrous falls.
Along with a review of the succession of Lancia models in time, many of which are included with exclusive photographs, this book offers an accurate analysis of all the events related to the brand, dedicating special attention to its most recent racing glory, exclusively commented by the famous sporting director Cesare Fiorio as well as the drivers Sandro Munari and Miki Biasion.

Brought to success by the great Vincenzo Lancia who died at the young age of 55, the Turin company was re-launched after World War II by his son, the engineer Gianni Lancia, with memorable models and victories in some of the world's most important races.
In gratitude, history has unjustly named him responsible for the company's crisis which, however, had other motivations. This is just one of the many novel-like events that dot the history of Lancia, a highly passionate brand, which has always been a topic of discussion.

Lancia Aurelia - Storia, corse e allestimenti speciali

If there is a car that, back in the distant 1950, codified for the first time the concept of the "Italian GT" it is surely the Lancia Aurelia. An undisputed masterpiece and a car that throughout the 1950s represented a fertile source of inspiration for all the leading Italian coachbuilders, a car that - in sporting terms - was an excellent choice for those tackling the principal road and track races of the era, the Mille Miglia included.
All this was based around a sophisticated mechanical design typical of the Lancia marque.

Drawing on precious illustrative material - most of which previously unpublished - this book reviews the entire technical, stylistic and sporting history of a milestone in Italian and worldwide motoring.

Lancia Aurelia in Detail - GT, Spyder, Convertible & Saloon

With the former Alfa Romeo engineer Vittorio Jano in charge of design, together with Gianni Lancia and Francesco de Virgilio, Lancia stuck to their chosen path with the new Aurelia of 1950, the first car in the world with a V6 engine. Originally introduced as a refined saloon model to meet the needs of the Italian bourgeoisie who wanted something better than a Fiat, the Aurelia quickly spawned a range of derivatives, starting with the beautiful Pinin Farina B20 GT coupé of 1951.
With this car, a golden age began for Lancia in motor sport, with a series of spectacular results in the classic road races and the toughest rallies, including the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and Le Mans, as well as the Monte Carlo and Liège-Rome- Liège rallies.

In 1956, the Lancia family sold their company, but the Aurelia lived on under the new management, and the spyder version was added with an eye on the American market, but eventually the Aurelia was phased out to be replaced by a large luxury model, the Flaminia, whose shape had been previewed on a number of special-bodied Aurelias.

In this comprehensive history of the Aurelia range, the author, a trained historian and Aurelia devotee who has owned his B20 coupé for many years, expertly weaves together the many strands of the history of this famous Lancia, ranging from the company history through technical analysis to the successes in competition, as well as the many special-bodied versions, all set against the scene of the some times turbulent Italian post-war years.

Lancia Hyena Zagato : Una Delta all'ennesima potenza / The Ultimate Delta

The Hyena is a beautiful car, but one practically unknown to the general public. A car that could have repeated and even surpassed the commercial and sporting success of the Lancia Delta Integrale from which it was derived.
Unfortunatley just 24 examples were produced due to the debateable decision taken by the Fiat/Lancia directors of the time.

Following a rapid review of the evolution of the Lancia Delta over the year, this book, written by an enthusiastic collector, examines the difficult genesis of the Hyena, from the first steps with the publication of the very first (previously unpublished) sketches and numerous photos and then follows its development, engineering and production through to its presentation at the car shows and in brochures.

The book is completed by a comprehensive technical section, with the project list and the spare parts catalogue as well as an extensive photographic portrait of one particular example, N. 20.
Lastly, all 24 Lancia Hyenas are examined, with the intention of reconstructing their specifications, their destination and the country in which they are jealously conserved by the enthusiast and collectors who possess a precious example.

Lancia Beta Montecarlo - Le vetture che hanno fatto la storia

The Lancia Beta was inaugurated in 1972 with the launch of the saloon. The range was expanded three years later by the addition of the "Beta Montecarlo", a model that soon became part of the Italian motoring history.
Introduced at the 1975 Turin Motor Show, the new coupé immediately attracted public interest and admiration for its authentic sporting character, confirmed by its assertive and fascinating body, designed by Pininfarina, and in its two-litre, 118 hp engine.
It was no coincidence that the newborn enjoyed a busy racing career: the Group 5 turbo version even enabled Lancia to beat Porsche and win the World Championship for Makes in both 1980 and 1981.

This book is entirely devoted to the history of the Beta Montecarlo, covering the technical and stylistic evolution of the various series and, naturally, the coupé's successful motor racing life - a book that just had to become one of the series focusing on cars that have made history.

Lancia Gamma Berlina & Coupé: the Story 1976 -1984

Designed to re-establish Lancia as a player in the executive car segment, the Gamma seemed to have it all to succeed, with its sophisticated engineering, elegant Pininfarina lines, and a storied brand with a long tradition of innovation and motorsport triumphs. Yet it failed, big time, garnering a reputation for unreliability that lingers on the model to this day.

Never a common sight on European roads, the Gamma has been largely forgotten, even by Lancia historians. Not anymore though, as former automobile designer Matteo Licata has, for the first time, written this in-depth homage to the Gamma, based on rigorous research on period documents and interviews with former Lancia employees.
