1960-1965 : le temps des sacres pour la scuderia Ferrari. Designed by legendary Ferrari designer Mauro Forghieri, the 3-litre flat-12 engined Ferrari 312T first appeared in 1975, and was continually developed to compete for six years, until the end of 1980.

In this richly illustrated book, Terry O'Neil details the origins of a remarkable racecar, the Ferrari 333 SP. This vehicle heralded the famed automaker's return to professional sports car competitions after an absence of more than twenty years. Introduced on the American racing circuit in 1994, it found instant success and continued to be a major player in numerous races in the US and Europe.

Of the 126 races the 333 SP entered, it emerged victorious in nearly fifty, making it one of the most successful sport prototype cars in Ferrari's history. Containing over eight hundred images - many of them never published before - O'Neil's book is a vivid look at this inimitable automobile.

Details the origin and racing history of the Ferrari 333 SP. Uniquely, none of the 333 SP models were entered into races by Ferrari itself. The cars were built specifically for customer use; a purchase price of $900,000 included two spare engines and race technical support supplied by Ferrari engineers.
A total of 40 cars were built; the first four by Ferrari, the remainder manufactured by Dallara & Michellotto using Ferrari engines. All of the cars were sold to, and race entries made by, privateer teams.

From 1994, the cars contested the IMSA World Sports Car Championship, the United States Road Racing Championship, and the American Le Mans Series, at circuits throughout North America.
In 1997, the cars also featured in the Europe-based International Sports Racing Series, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Two years later, the Doran-Lista team installed a Judd V10 engine into its 333 SP, with the aim of increasing power and improving fuel efficiency. In all, from the 126 races entered, 47 victories were claimed by the 333 SP.

The Ferrari 512S, and its successor the 512M are among the most iconic of Ferrari sports-racing cars. These cars competed against Porsche's all-conquering 917 in 1970 and 1971 - a rivalry immortalised in Steve McQueen's film Le Mans.
The car was powered by a 5-litre V-12 engine, and was driven by an impressive portfolio of drivers including Mario Andretti, John Surtees, Clay Regazzoni, Jacky Ickx, Ronnie Peterson and Derek Bell.

Although the performance of the Porsche and Ferrari were very similar, the Porsche 917 benefitted from greater reliability, and the Ferraris were unable to challenge the dominance of the German manufacturer before the rules were amended for 1972, effectively outlawing the 5-litre-capacity engines used in both the Ferrari 512 and Porsche 917.

In spite of only winning a single World Championship race - the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1970 - the Ferrari 512S/M has secured a place as one of the most charismatic sports-racing cars ever built, and the sight and sound of a restored example in full flight today still turns heads.

The story of the mid-engined "Sharknose" Ferraris is one of glory and drama. Outstanding victories, such as winning the Formula 1 Championship in 1961 with American driver Phil Hill, are inextricably linked with profound tragedies - for example, the death of Wolfgang von Trips and fifteen spectators at the 1961 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Newcomer Giancarlo Baghetti, on the other hand, is immortalized in the record books with three wins in his first three Formula 1 appearances.

The team's sporting decline in 1962, after a glorious season the year before with seven Grand Prix victories, is pure drama. Constant intervention in team operations by Ferrari's wife, Laura, drove away the entire leadership cadre of the Scuderia, around Carlo Chiti, leaving to 26-year-old Mauro Forghieri the daunting task of running the team's technical operations. Forghieri rose to the challenge and became one of the towering figures of motorsports.

While the monoposto 156, an icon in the world of Formula 1 and with irresistible styling by Fantuzzi, became a legend, the sports prototypes, also drawn by Fantuzzi, with their low weight and aerodynamically optimised shapes, had an enduring effect on the development of two-seat race cars in the years to follow.
They celebrated wins in the Targa Florio, on the Nürburgring, and in the European Hill Climb Championship.

This book, with many previously unpublished images from the archives of the incomparable Bernard Cahier, paints a detailed picture of one of the most exciting epochs in motorsports, and one of its greatest icons - the Ferrari 156, and its prototype siblings, the 246 SP and 196 SP.

With racing cars being built mainly for performance, only few of them combine this with admirable beauty. Ferrari's model 312 P is definitely such an example - thanks to the work of its designers Giacomo Caliri and Edmondo Casoli, but also Enzo Ferrari, who tried to stop the team adding wings or other aerodynamic additions to its beauty - even if they might have improved the car's performance.

The 312 P was built by the Maranello company for the 1969 World Sportscar Championship and powered by a stunning 3-litre V12 engine. A short development period and a small budget led to a season of mixed results where, except in Monza and at Le Mans, only one car was sent to the races to take on all the other teams. Its official career ended when the bigger 5-litre 512 S came for the 1970 season to fight the Porsche 917s.

This book by Gianni Agnesa tells the story of the car - of which only three examples have been built - in every detail, from the very first test, through every race they did with the factory team or later when the North American Racing Team took over the cars. It gives short portraits of the drivers of the 312 P, such as Chris Amon, Mario Andretti, Pedro Rodríguez, Peter Schetty, Mike Parkes, Tony Adamowicz, Chuck Parsons or Sam Posey. The 264-page volume takes us right up today and the one example that is still used on some historic events. The large-format, high quality book produced by McKlein comes in a slipcase and is illustrated by many previously unseen images.

The book recounts, after the unfortunate debut of the first Ferrari in Piacenza on 11 May 1947 (a "promising failure", as Enzo Ferrari himself commented), the victory that came two weeks later at the Rome Grand Prix, at Caracalla's thermal baths.
