Les voitures emblématiques des années 50
After the Second World War, Europe was in ruins. American industry was in full swing. On both sides of the Atlantic, the automobile industry was reborn or reorganized. The first models built were little more than the finalization of projects envisaged in 1939, but very quickly, the creative ingenuity of the manufacturers transformed the automobile.
In the aftermath of the war, manufacturers redoubled their efforts to offer original, imposing and gleaming cars. Citroën and Renault offered the popular car to the French with the incredible 2 CV and the bewitching 4 CV. Peugeot offered the robust 203.
The Germans, the Italians and the English were not left behind. During the decade, the car would become a real social object. At the end of the 1950s, the automobile already had to meet technical criteria and aesthetic requirements to satisfy the expectations of the population.
