Triumph TR7 - The Untold Story

By the mid-1970s, British Leyland's two popular sports cars were becoming outdated. The company needed a modern replacement, leading to the TR7. Designed to succeed both the MGB and Triumph TR6, it featured a wedge-shaped body.
However, aside from its styling, much of the car remained conventional, and initial reviews were mixed. The two-seat coupe was launched in Britain in 1974.

David Knowles explores the TR7's design and production history, highlighting the challenges posed by British Leyland's strikes and labor issues. He also examines its competition history.

Covering the later TR7 convertible and the V8-powered TR8, this book is a definitive guide to a car that is likely more appreciated today than when production ended in 1981.
