Daimler 2.5-litre V8/V8-250
NEW
The Daimler 2.5-litre V8 was the first car produced after Daimler joined Jaguar and became the most successful of the joint models. It combined Daimler's smooth V8 engine with the Jaguar Mk II body, bringing together traditional Daimler comfort and clear Jaguar design.
In 1967 a revised version, the V8-250, was introduced, and in 1969 the model was replaced by the Daimler Sovereign based on the Jaguar XJ6.
Edmund Waterhouse explains how Jaguar integrated Daimler into its range and made effective use of Daimler's assets, especially the V8 engine designed by Edward Turner. The book describes the technical changes made to the Mk II body and the details that set the Daimler apart from the Jaguar version.
It also includes period road tests, owner experiences, and an analysis of improvements introduced to correct early weaknesses. Illustrated with many period photographs, this book is a clear and well-documented tribute to the first and most successful collaboration between Daimler and Jaguar.
