The Lancia Delta Group A is one of the most successful racing cars of all time. A legend that has collected 46 victories in World Rally races and won six Constructors 'titles consecutively, plus four Drivers' titles with Biasion and Kankkunen.
In the first volume, enriched by the preface by Miki Biasion, the sporting deeds of the Delta Group A are retraced, with the relative technical data sheets and the transparent drawings of all the versions. This part is accompanied by the beautiful and exclusive original images of Actualfoto. Then, to further enrich the work, there is a second part relating to tests and developments written by one of the main architects of Delta's successes, the engineer Sergio Limone. The Turin-based designer reveals a series of information that was still secret until yesterday, with an exhaustive text full of unpublished details written jointly with Luca Gastaldi.
This section of the first volume is completed by the very rare images taken at the time by Limone himself and a single document: the complete list of all the Delta made at Abarth, with all the information relating to each model.
Unveiled to the public at the 1979 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Lancia Delta was conceived as a small, front-wheel drive family car, for the more affluent consumer sector. Originally offered in three models - the Delta 1300 in 4 and 5-speed guises, and the Delta 1500 5-speed - the Delta was awareded Car of the Year in 1980. Over the next decade, the Delta range evolved and expanded, with larger, more powerful engines, auto gearboxes, turbochargers and more, before evolving into the powerful, technically complex, aggressive Lancia Delta Integrale Evo.
This guide tells you everything you need to know when considering a potential purchase of the car that evolved to become the powerful, technically complex and aggressive Lancia Delta Integrale EVO, a car that consistently won the Rally World Championship from 1987 to 1992, and has now attained cult status. Fully illustrated, with a unique evaluation guide, and valuable advice on cost, documentation, restoration, club support and more, this Essential Buyer's Guide provides you with practical information from a marque expert on how to seek out a good example.
This book covers cars produced between 1986 and 1999, and includes Lancia Delta HF 4WD, Lancia Delta integrale 8V and 16V, Evo I, and Evo II. It does not cover the Lancia Delta 1.3, 1.5, HF Turbo, and 1.6i.e

Born in 1979, the Lancia Delta compact family car was not initially programmed to shine on the world rally scene. The Stratos and then, in the early 1980s, the 037 played this role. But as the competition (Audi, Peugeot) developed 4-wheel drive for the World Rally Championship (Quattro, 205 T16), Lancia reacted first by presenting a Delta 4x4 prototype at the end of 1982, then by developing the Delta S4 Group B, which won the RAC on its first outing at the end of 1985 under the noses of the other patented Group Bs mentioned above.
An S4 became the bogeyman of the 1986 season until the Tour de Corse where Lancia's star driver, Toivonen, was killed. An accident that spelled the end of these monstrous Group Bs. But Lancia reacted quickly in 1987 with a Delta HF 4WD commercial base for the rally car, which attacked the WRC season the same year and became world rally champion for the first time. And it would not stop there. This book describes in detail the Lancia Delta and its sporting career.
Introduced in the early 1980s in the rapidly expanding market for compact family cars, the Lancia Delta was aimed at motorists who wanted the refined performance of a luxury car in a less ostentatious body. Developed on technical solutions worthy of the Lancia tradition, the Delta was crowned Car of the Year in Europe in 1980.
The Delta range, developed until the early 1990s, incorporated more powerful engines, ever more luxurious finishes, and sophisticated four-wheel drive versions. The Delta has long competed in the World Rally Championship, competing under Group B and A regulations.
With nearly 500,000 cars produced in twelve years, including a few haute couture models, unique or a few dozen examples, the Delta was a remarkable commercial success, of which you will discover the studies and prototypes, the versions of each vintage, the limited series, their advertisements, the competitions, and a review of the international press.
Richly illustrated, this book retraces in detail the history and evolution of the Lancia Delta.
This volume of the "La voiture de mon père" collection is not only a source of deep information for the owner, but also a concise guide to originality.
The technology, variants, modifications and special versions are described in detail.
Contains 280 vintage photos, many of which have never been seen before.
Lancia Delta HF Integrale: Die Geschichte eines Champions
A cult car! If this exuberant description ever applied, then it certainly does for the Lancia Delta Integrale. Based on the completely unspectacular everyday Delta, the Integrale was created in the 1980s as a martial-looking, technically highly complex high-performance car that was intended to serve no other purpose than to win world championship laurels on the rally track - which it did impressively.
The authors - supported by important contemporary witnesses - tell the exciting story of the Delta Integrale as a competition and also as a road vehicle. In doing so, they convey the fascination of this inspiring four-wheel drive sports car in words and pictures in this comprehensive documentation.
