This book presents the long history of Nash Motor Company and Hudson Motor Car Company, two firms that remained independent until their merger in 1954 to form American Motors Company, later acquired by Chrysler in 1987. After the war, Hudson launched the innovative Step-Down models and developed the refined Twin-H Power engine. The company also returned to racing, achieving unmatched success in NASCAR between 1951 and 1954 with the famous Hudson Hornet. No other brand has dominated the series to the same degree.

The book also explains Hudson's later integration into American Motors and its lasting place in American automotive history.
