Henschel Hs 126 (Camera On)
This book is a detailed photographic study of the Henschel Hs 126, a two-seat reconnaissance and army cooperation aircraft used by the Luftwaffe. Conceived at Henschel Flugzeug Werke, the Hs 126 first flew in 1936 and entered service in 1937-1938.
Powered by a Bramo 323 radial engine producing about 850 hp, it had a parasol wing design, fixed landing gear, and carried a crew of two. The aircraft saw early combat use with the Legion Condor in Spain, and later served widely in WWII for reconnaissance, artillery spotting, and liaison duties.
Although it was gradually replaced in front line service by 1942, the Hs 126 continued in secondary roles such as glider towing and night harassment flights.
This volume in the "Camera On" series features over 140 wartime photographs - many taken by ordinary German soldiers - showing the Hs 126 in service, damaged, or abandoned. It is an essential reference for military historians and scale modelers alike.
