Spanish Air Force Aircraft 1939-2021
At the end of the Spanish Civil War in 1939, the Air Ministry was created and, on 7 October of that year, the Spanish Air Force, or Ejército del Aire (EdA), was born. Starting life from the ashes of conflict, it has grown to become on of the most important air forces in Europe.
To date, there have not been many books published about the history of the EdA, an oversight this volume seeks to redress. Illustrated with over 200 stunning photographs of bombers, fighters, transport, reconnaissance, attack, liaison and trainer aircraft, along with seaplanes and helicopters, taken over several decades, this book covers the history and aircraft of the EdA from its inception to the present day. The many aircraft detailed include the Fiat Cr.32, Ju 52 and Bf 109 from the early days through to the A400M Atlas, F-18 Hornet and Eurofighter EF2000 currently flown.

Spanish Military Jets 1954-2022 - Difficult Beginnings
NEW
After World War II, Spain's air force largely relied on older aircraft, with its most modern fighter being the Messerschmitt Bf 109F. However, after the 1954 Pact of Madrid and support from the US, Spain received its first military jets. Though not the most advanced, these aircraft helped modernize Spain's air forces, bringing them in line with European standards. Spain's jet fleet eventually included the Lockheed T-33, North American F-86 Sabre, Hispano HA-200 Saeta and HA-220 Súper Saeta, Lockheed F-104G Starfighter, Dassault Mirage III and F-1, Northrop F-5, McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II, and Harrier AV-8S.
This first of two volumes on Spanish military jets covers the early aircraft received by Spain, their roles, and the liveries they wore. With more than 140 images, this book highlights how these jets played a key role in modernizing Spain's military.

Spanish Military Jets 1954-2022 - Difficult Beginnings
Spanish Military Jets 1954-2022 - Towards the 21st Century
NEW
After acquiring its first jet in 1954, Spain continued to modernize its aircraft for the Ejército del Aire (EdA, Spanish Air Force) and the Armada (Navy), the core of Spain's air power. The country introduced several new jets, including the CASA C-101, McDonnell Douglas RF-4C, EF-18A, EAV-8B Harrier II, and the Eurofighter EF2000 Typhoon. These aircraft still protect Spain's skies and participate in NATO missions.
This book examines these fighters, along with the EdA's aerobatic team, Patrulla Águila, and its predecessor, Patrulla Ascua. It also features special liveries used for anniversaries and international events. With over 140 images, this volume highlights the jets that have modernized Spain's military into the 21st century.
