DAF trucks vanaf 1949: van 7-streper tot Euro 6

In 1949 werd gestart met de productie van de eerste DAF vrachtwagens. In 1950 werd een nieuwe automobielfabriek aan de Geldropseweg in Eindhoven geopend en deze locatie is, in uitgebreide vorm, nog steeds het kloppend hart van DAF trucks.

In dit overzichtsboek worden hoofdzakelijk de vrachtwagens getoond die ontwikkeld en / of gebouwd zijn in Nederland. Met de getoonde trucks en de indeling krijgt u een goed beeld van de ontwikkelingen op truckgebied bij DAF.
Het boek is zodanig ingedeeld dat elk hoofdstuk de beschrijving van tien jaar DAF-geschiedenis omvat waarna de verschillende types worden behandeld. Daarna volgen, bij de meeste DAF-typen, de foto's van in en rondom de fabriek of op een tentoonstelling en de trucks in vele variaties bij de bedrijven.

Als afsluiting zijn bij de meeste DAF-typen foto's geplaatst van een kermis-, circustruck of in geroeste staat. Zo is er een levenscyclus van een DAF-vrachtwagen te zien. In de meeste hoofdstukken staan de DAF's op volgorde van kenteken. Verspreid door het boek zijn ook foldercovers en tekeningen te vinden.

DAF Lorries

In 1948, DAF's first prototype lorries were produced and the company maintained the reputation for quality products established by their earlier trailers.
A few DAF lorries were exported to the UK in the early 1960s and, within a few years, driven by the newfound legality of sleeper cabs and the production of their own 2600 cab, DAF was a major player in the industry.

DAF chassis voor speciale bedrijfswagens - Maatconfectie in bedrijfsautofabricage

This book, part of the DAF monograph series (volume 15), does not focus specifically on one type of DAF truck or series. Instead, it showcases the creativity and transportation solutions that DAF has offered over the years, often playing a pioneering role in the industry.

The subtitle, "Custom Tailoring in Commercial Vehicle Manufacturing," is derived from the brochures of DAF 1502, 1600, and 3200 trucks from 1964. This slogan was inspired by the numerous possibilities in DAF chassis (custom tailoring) featuring the 120 hp DD engine.

The book is organized into five chapters, covering chassis with a central beam, lowered chassis, special multi-axle configurations with double front axles and steerable leading or trailing axles, and tanker trucks in their various forms.
The informative text provides an overview of over 90 years of DAF vehicle development, ranging from the swing axle trailer to the 2000 DO and from the 2800 to the current CF Pure Excellence.
