Anton Schlüter first built engines and later threshing machines before entering tractor manufacturing in 1937. Over the years, the company developed increasingly powerful vehicles, especially in response to the rising demand for high-performance tractors from the late 1950s onward. However, these high-powered models contributed to the company's downfall. A major order from Yugoslav leader Tito was canceled in the 1990s due to the civil war, leading to Schlüter's bankruptcy.
In this "Typenkompass", Birthe Rosenau presents the most important tractors Schlüter produced between 1937 and 1966. The book includes a photo, historical description, and technical specifications for each model.
The Schlüter engine factory in Freising built tractors from 1937 onwards. It became known for its large tractors, whose power already reached 100 hp in the 1960s and later even 500 hp.
