Trattori cingolati - Storici italiani 1932-1968
This book examines 41 Italian manufacturers of tracked tractors from 1932 to 1968, summarizing their history and models. The chosen dates are significant: in 1932, the first Italian crawler tractor, the Fiat 700C, was introduced, while in 1968, the Carraro 450CL crawler tractor was launched, marking its 50th anniversary in 2018.
The landscape of manufacturers during that period was diverse, ranging from small artisans to large industries, all representing an unparalleled era of Italian production, particularly in the post-war years. Where possible, only two models from a single company were analyzed, selected to represent the company's evolution over time.
Most of the photos depict existing or restored tractors, with historical documents used where necessary. Tracked tractor registration documents provided important data on vehicle approvals, including speeds, engines, weights, and tire dimensions. The measurements in the book were sourced from manufacturer advertising materials or directly measured by the author.
