Chilton Repair Manuals on cars, pick-ups and vans

Chilton repair manual - PontiacTotal Care Manuals have been published by Chilton since 1925. This renowned American publisher was acquired in 1996 by the British Haynes group, with over 200 million books sold by far the largest publisher of car maintenance and repair manuals in the world.

  • For each Chilton Repair Manual a car is completely disassembled and then reassembled, if possible without the use of special tools.
  • At the same time the various repairs and maintenance works are photographed in detail.
  • Thanks to the hundreds of photos and drawings, it is easy to follow the short step-by-step instructions.
  • All adjustment data are arranged in clear tables, while clear wiring diagrams are also included.

Important: These Chilton Repair Manuals are published for the North American market. Although these books are also usuable for U.S. models sold in Europe, these may differ in some areas (especially the anti-pollution and safety equipment).

Units: Chilton workshop manuals list measures and weights in ISO units (m, kg, Nm, ...) as well as in Imperial units (inch, ft, lb ft, ...).

Automatic transmissions and modern gearboxes: Because special tools and adjustment equipment are required, the overhaul of automatic transmissions and modern gearboxes (specialist work!) is not covered in these books, but they usually provide instructions for replacing the ATF fluid and adjusting the controls.

These Chilton workshop manuals describe maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engine (distribution, camshaft, intake and exhaust valves, cylinder head, crankshaft, lubrication system and gaskets), cooling system, air conditioning, fuel system, exhaust, electrical system, clutch, transmission (only removal and installation), front and rear axles, springs and shock absorbers, steering system, brakes and body.
