Berlin-Brandenburg Airport "Willy Brandt" was opened without much pomp on October 31, 2020. The delay in its construction has now become synonymous with poor government planning.
Nevertheless, the new airport received its own rail connection including complex station and tunnel construction, which, unlike the airport, was completed on time for the planned opening date in 2012. But this success also caused problems.
