Wilhag und MFL - Vom Dampfbagger zum Feuerwehrkran

De firma Wilhag uit Langenfeld werd in de jaren vijftig vooral bekend door haar zware afsleepkranen, die vaak op Kaelble onderstellen werden ingezet. Legendarisch waren ook de kranen, die in grote aantallen bij de Bundeswehr op Magirus Jupiter 6x6 onderstellen dienst deden.

Minder bekend is dat Wilhag ontelbare andere constructies voor civiel en militair gebruik construeerde, die heffen, baggeren en vervoeren gemakkelijker maakten (draglines, hooglepels, dieplepels, rupskranen, wielkranen, takelwagens, wielladers, hoogwerkers, hydraulische graafmachines, enz.).

Dit schitterende boek biedt met meer dan 450 foto's een overzicht van alle door Wilhag en MFL (Maschinenfabrik Langenfeld) gefabriceerde graafmachines en kranen. Er zijn zowel opnamen in de fabriek als actiefoto's, zowel van allerhande vrachtwagenchassis (Faun, Henschel, Kaelble, Magirus-Deutz, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, e.d.) als van speciale, eigen constructies.
De auteur Wolfgang Jumpertz, zelf decennia lang werkzaam bij Wilhag, heeft een documentatie bijeengebracht die op dit gebied echt uniek is.
