Esta es la primera publicación polaca sobre vehículos comerciales producidos en los países del Comecon, el bloque del Este, desde la posguerra hasta 1990.

El autor explica la estructura del Comecon y define los vehículos comerciales. Presenta los fabricantes, su perfil de producción y modelos seleccionados de furgonetas, camiones y autobuses, incluyendo su diseño, funcionamiento y datos técnicos.

Los vehículos se agrupan por país: Bulgaria, Checoslovaquia, Yugoslavia, República Democrática Alemana, Polonia, Rumania, Hungría y la Unión Soviética. Cada fabricante y sus vehículos se presentan junto con capítulos breves sobre el desarrollo de la industria automotriz en ese país.

In the passenger car sector, for example, there were the F8, F9 and P70 models from IFA or EMW from Awtowelo, as well as cars from neighboring Eastern European countries.
For trucks, there were models such as Horch, Framo or Barkas, again supplemented by trucks from neighbors.

Michael Dünnebier and Eberhard Kittler describe all of these vehicles and even more, with their history and technology, and illustrate them with around 600 images.

Feuerwehrfahrzeuge der DDR

Este libro demuestra que los vehículos de bomberos en la RDA eran más variados de lo que se suele pensar. Además de Barkas e IFA, también se utilizaron vehículos de otros países del bloque del Este, importados a través de acuerdos de compensación, como Tatra y Skoda checos, SIL y SIS rusos e incluso camiones de bomberos de aeródromo de Magirus. Aunque la mayoría de los cuerpos de bomberos utilizaban vehículos nacionales, estos se asignaban generalmente de forma centralizada.
