Met Maarse & Kroon onderweg
In his younger years, the Amsterdam native Wim Vink often wandered around the Haarlemmermeer station in Amsterdam and was fascinated by the many trams and buses, including those of the beautiful bus company from Aalsmeer: Maarse & Kroon. In his later place of residence Zwanenburg he came across those buses again and also started photographing them. Now many years later he reviewed his photo collections and got the idea to compile a photo book about Maarse & Kroon. This book was created together with Frank van den Boogert and Kees van der Zwaard.
This publication contains a limited number of photos from the period before the Second World War, because the emphasis is on the period after that until the end of the company in 1973. Photos of former Maarse & Kroon buses at Centraal Nederland, the company that Maarse & Kroon merged with, are also included. Many buses found a new owner after their working life at Maarse & Kroon. That is why you will also find images in this book of companies that used second-hand Maarse & Kroon buses.
