Surprisingly, mine ships have been somewhat neglected in recent decades, probably because of their special capabilities, which are more suited to smaller navies.

In this documentary, Wilhelm M. Donko presents all minesweeping and mine clearing ships of the U.S. Navy by type and class and describes all units ever classified as such from the interwar years through the Second World War to the present day.
