Bestemming Buitenland (1) - Voormalig Nederlands OV-materieel in Roemenië

Hugo Richter, capacity planner at ProRail, developed a passion for public transport through his youthful experiences with trains and buses, as his parents did not have a driver's license. His interest started in the Netherlands but quickly grew into travelling throughout Europe and even worldwide, always with the aim of discovering a touch of the Netherlands in faraway countries.
His first long journey took him to Romania, where he discovered former Dutch public transport equipment. Ten years after this discovery, he looks back and examines the changes during this period.

This photo book offers a selection from his extensive collection of photographs, divided by city, with over twenty different cities in Romania. It provides a glimpse into the Dutch buses, trams and trains he encountered during this period and highlights anecdotes from his visits to various locations.
Experience with this photo book the atmosphere of change during ten years of travelling through Romania, in search of the Dutch past.

Bestemming Buitenland (2) - Voormalig Nederlands OV-materieel in Cuba

In this second part of "Bestemming Buitenland" (Destination Abroad) a fascinating chapter in the history of Dutch buses is highlighted. After years of faithful service on Dutch roads, numerous buses found a new life in sunny Cuba.

Through a selection of photographs taken by Hugo Richter, the reader is given a vivid insight into how these old buses are living a second life on the bustling streets of Cuba.

De streekbus - Een reis door Nederland van 1987 naar 2007

After the construction of the standard regional buses, "De Gele Rijders", had stopped, a particularly turbulent time began for regional bus transport in the Netherlands. Not only new buses, but also new companies and new colours followed each other in rapid succession in recent years.

In the meantime, the cards seem to have been shuffled as far as the companies are concerned, but due to the ever-ongoing tender procedures, everything remains in motion. All in all, reason enough to compile an interesting book and to provide an overview of the developments in 20 years of regional bus transport in the Netherlands.
We would therefore like to invite you for a journey by regional bus through the Netherlands, from 1987 to 2007.
