Otter & Twin Otter - The Universal Airplanes

Following the success of the Beaver, De Havilland Canada's engineers and test pilots set out to develop a larger aircraft with twice its capacity and payload. The result was the single-engine Otter.
Building on this design, the company later developed the Twin Otter, featuring two engines for greater reliability and nosewheel landing gear.

The Otter and Twin Otter became highly versatile utility aircraft, serving in roles ranging from aerial firefighting and regional passenger transport to military operations. Their capabilities made them suitable for remote expeditions in Alaska and Antarctica.
They also carried supplies to frontline forces during the Vietnam War and supported United Nations peacekeeping operations in the Middle East.

Illustrated with more than 100 photographs, this book traces the development and varied operational history of the Otter and Twin Otter aircraft.
