Eisernes aus Eisenach - Die BMW und EMW R 35 Geschichte

"Eisernes aus Eisenach" not only describes the history of the BMW and EMW R 35 machines. This type of motorcycle, built from 1937 to 1955, is thoroughly examined on 192 pages. In addition to the model history section with many photos, the reproduction of historical workshop documents should enable readers to restore, identify and maintain their motorcycle themselves in a way that is true to the original.
Two new chapters are dedicated to buying used cars in order to minimize risks for the buyer. In the current edition, the book has been expanded by 16 pages and two chapters. These provide valuable tips for buying and maintaining the machines discussed.

EMW und AWO - Die Viertaktmodelle der DDR (Schrader Typen Chronik)

In 1928, BMW took over the Eisenach Motorenwerke and also built motorcycles there. After the war, one of them, the R35, continued to be built there as the EMW until 1955.
The AWO 425, the second four-stroke motorcycle produced in the GDR, had been rolling off the production line in Suhl, Thuringia, since 1950, and production ended in 1960. After that, the State Council decided to stop the production of four-stroke motorcycles in the former GDR.

But the exotic four-stroke engines have not been forgotten in the two-stroke country of the GDR, as Frank Rönicke's volume proves with plenty of period color.
