This German standard work on automotive technology is intended to help trainees in the automotive industry to understand technical processes and system relationships. The book is intended to serve as a reference work for journeymen and journeywomen, master craftsmen and technicians as well as students of automotive technology.
Ideally suited for self-study.

This handbook is an indispensable part of the world of automobiles. It has been a reliable source of information for its users for more than 80 years. As a reference work with compact articles, it offers a reliable insight into the current state of automotive technology.

The "Kraftfahrtechnisches Taschenbuch" begins by examining the fundamentals of physics, chemistry and mathematics relevant to automotive technology, then provides insights into the materials used in automobiles and describes the operating materials used in the vehicle as well as the most important machine elements.
The combustion engine with its peripheral units is the subject of another topic area. The control and regulation of the engines as well as the components and their function for operating the engines are presented in detail.

Kraftfahrtechnisches Taschenbuch Reprint 1954 - Bosch Technik fürs Leben

Electrics in cars - that was a big shock for many workshops. This reprint from 1954 gives a great overview of the state of the art at the time. A contentious editor-in-chief once called the men in workshops and industry who had little knowledge of the subject matter, but who were well paid for it, "sloppy experts" and "scoundrels". In those economic miracle times, the Beetle was "in" and good mechanics were rare, and woe betide anyone who didn't know anything about their vehicle.

Robert Bosch GmbH knew about the needs of drivers. Long before the war, they had started publishing the "Kraftfahrtechnisches Taschenbuch". Here, the Swabian specialists informed professionals and interested owners about units of measurement and materials, explained the technical basics of cars, motorcycles and tractors, and then gave advice, tips and instructions for troubleshooting: wherever the shoe pinched and the copper worm was digging, Bosch had the answer.

Lexikon der Kraftfahrzeugtechnik

The lexicon of automotive technology by Heinrich Riedl contains and explains with around 250 illustrations all the important technical terms from the areas of engine, drive, mechanics, chassis, electrics and electronics and mixture preparation, among others.
The lexicon is being published in a revised and updated new edition, which takes into account the numerous new developments in automotive technology.
