Tracteurs Renault D22 - 1955-1968
In the large Renault tractor family, whose family tree was presented in the Renault Tractor Encyclopedias, the D 22 family, namely the ET5 Range, is a key branch in the evolution of the Renault tractor. Its history begins in 1955 and ends in 1968. During its fourteen years of exclusive reign at the Le Mans factory, this family was the subject of all the attention; the French market was particularly demanding and, curiously, it was the little brother D22 that was the dominant one.
It is therefore quite natural that a specific work is dedicated to this family, whose life corresponds to the glory years of the Renault Tractor, so much so that, in the 1970s, Renault had great difficulty convincing large farms that its know-how did not stop at small and medium-power tractors. The price of the glory of a dominant family. This period will mark the abandonment of the gasoline engine, the arrival of air-cooled MWM engines, but also, and mainly at the end of the reign, the Tracto-Control which will be handed down as a legacy to all subsequent generations.
Appendices at the end of the Volume provide the possibility of: - Finding a model by its commercial name. - Knowing the number of tractors manufactured by month and by model. - Knowing the months and year of manufacture of a tractor number.
In 1963, Renault released a new tractor: the 385. Later named the Master, it was able, thanks to its 55 hp and hydraulic technology, to compete with the SOM 55 or the MF 65, then leaders on the market. Discover, through nearly 300 photos and technical drawings, all the features and important modifications of this tractor, from the first generation of the 385, to the Master 4x4, including the Master 1 and 2 and Master TP.
The author also offers you to visit part of the Le Mans factory from the 1960s and to learn a little more about the brand's attempts to establish itself abroad, particularly in Germany and Algeria. Appendices at the end of the volume will allow you to know the number of tractors manufactured, by month and by model, and to find out about the dates of manufacture of a tractor number.
Bringing together an exceptional collection of rare, sometimes completely unpublished but always moving archive photos, Bernard Gibert offers us in his latest work a strong tribute to the agricultural epic of the Renault brand, its machines and its men. Hardcover, this beautiful book presents, under the direction of a recognized expert, the main series and ranges of models produced by Renault and retraces the history of a century of agricultural machinery in France and its contribution to the growth of agriculture.
Passionate about old machinery, fervent admirer of the innovations of Louis Renault and his teams for civil or military society in general and for the agricultural world in particular, Bernard Gibert wanted to pay tribute to these machines and through these machines to a visionary man. He collected rare photos, some of which are unpublished, to bring them together in this beautiful book and retrace this industrial and agricultural epic. He tried to make them "speak" to make us relive the moments during which his machines helped these men but also these women to exercise one of the most beautiful professions in the world: that of feeding humanity. We wish you a beautiful journey through time!

Tracteurs agricoles Renault 1917-2003 - toute l'histoire
Louis Renault, a great industrial captain, was also a man of the land who was passionate about his immense Herqueville estate, covering some 700 hectares and comprising 7 farms. Passionate about progress, he probably wanted his land to be worked by tractors bearing his name.
Moreover, most of the models created were put to the test on his estate. Present in aviation as well as on railways, on battlefields as well as on national roads, on the water with its marine engines as well as in factories with its industrial models, Renault could not be absent from the fields. Thus, the adventure of the agricultural tractor, begun in 1919, continued when the railway and aeronautical sectors stopped after the Second World War.
The growth of the "Renault agriculture" activity is such that, in 1996, it is the first brand on French soil, bringing many innovations, the renewal of the ranges, a successful design that is unanimously acclaimed. In 2003, Renault agriculture becomes a 51% subsidiary of Claas. This is a turning point in the history of the brand which disappears completely in 2008. When the story of a man meets our History, it becomes essential to tell it in words and images: this was the author's wish through this beautiful work.

The "Tracteurs Renault" brand is rooted in the history of farmers in France. Editions France Agricole and "Campagne & Compagnie" wanted to illustrate the atmosphere of the countryside for almost 30 years, from the 1920s to the mid-1950s. The author studied the company's photographic archives to immerse you in your childhood memories. He designed his book as a real family album: his, yours, ours!
